Bye, Bye Berkman

My first post will be about Lance Berkman getting traded from the Houston Astros to the New York Yankees. As big of a Berkman fan that I am, I am also very happy for him. He may not be in his prime anymore but he definitely can finally be in a place where he can showcase his talent and also win. I am also happy that he is going to my second favorite MLB team. I love the Yankees. So now that my favorite Astro(and one of my favorite baseball players) ever, is playing for New York, I am pretty excited. Of course I am very sad too. As a huge sports fan I have always tried to not become too emotionally attached to any players. Berkman was different. I was part of The Little Pumas(his fan club). Sure some people thought we were crazy, dressing up in full puma costumes and going absolutely nuts each time Berkman appeared at the plate, but it was a true admiration for a truly great player. Berkman was a class act. He handled everything with respect on and off the field. I know I can safely speak on behalf of Houston that we will all miss him.
